Coalition Urges Grassroots Support of AgJOBSSource: SAF

In the aftermath of the failed comprehensive immigration reform in Congress, the Agriculture Coalition for Immigration Reform is emphasizing the importance of continuing grassroots efforts.

The coalition is asking members to generate as much grassroots support as possible in the Senate and House this fall in order to raise the pressure on Congress to pass the AgJOBS legislation and ease the labor crisis in Agriculture. Members are encouraged to make their voices heard through e-mails, faxes and phone calls on this critical issue.

And the Society of American Florists (SAF) is on board with the cause, stating in a press release that they will send several action alerts over the next couple of months urging all members to get involved.

According to SAF, the only way for growers and agriculture to prevail is to beat opponents of the proposed legislation at the grassroots level. For more information, go to www.safnow.org.
