AFE Scholarships Application Deadline ApproachesSource: AFE

In 2007, the American Floral Endowment (AFE) assisted aspiring horticulturists in pursuing their dreams. Nineteen scholarships were awarded to eligible horticulture students pursuing careers in an industry-related field. All scholarships were provided as cash awards ranging from $500 to $2,000 with checks issued jointly in the name of the recipient and the college or institution he or she would be attending in the fall.

These scholarships will be offered again this year, and interested students can download applications through the AFE’s website or on CollegeToolkit.com. Each website lists a brief description of the scholarships offered, as well as the application requirements. The application deadline is May 1 of each year.

If you know a student interested in joining the field, encourage them to apply. After all, the next generation is the lifeblood of our industry.
