Back to “Normal” By Tim Hodson

Today is my first day back in the office after a great week at 2014 California Spring Trials.

It’s kind of hard to get back to “normal” (whatever that is) after California Spring Trials because there is no other week like Spring Trials week. You log a lot of miles, see a lot of people and plants and take a ton of photos. You return home both exhausted from the travel but invigorated from all of the creativity our industry has to offer.

If you didn’t have a chance to follow along with us last week with the three special editions of our Culture Connection e-newsletter, you can still check them out on the blog section our website. To access the newsletter content, just click on the links below.

And be sure to check out our photo gallery on www.CaliforniaSpringTrials.com where you can see many of the new varieties that were introduced this year. Now that we are back in the office, we will be adding even more photos to the gallery, so be sure to keep checking back.

Getting the Most Out of Spring Training

Has your spring season taken off yet? How are your new employees working out? How about your returning employees? Are they making the grade this spring?

If you are looking for ways to get the most of new and existing employees, then be sure to sign up for GPN’s latest webinar on how to refresh and inspire your your employees.

On April 29, GPN will present a free webinar on “What Spring Training Really Should Look Like.” The one-hour webinar will be presented by Dr. Bridget K. Behe, Ph.D., professor, Department of Horticulture, Michigan State University. It will take place April 29 at 2 p.m. Eastern time.

Dr. Behe will present strategies and tactics for re-focusing and re-directing employees to be the best they can when interacting with you, other employees and customers.

She will outline some important employee training information for you to review with them for the busy spring season along with suggesting some new tactics to keep the conversation with customers and other employees constructive.
