Petunia

Petunia QT is a multiflora hybrid with medium-sized flowers and a rounded, compact growth habit. More importantly, they are bred to hold for a long period maintaining the plant habit without the use of PGRs. Mature height is 8-11 inches.

Use a sterile, well-drained soil with a pH range of 5.5-6.2. Water thoroughly and let soil dry out between irrigations. Overwatering, oxygen deprivation and poor drained soils may cause foliar chlorosis similar to chlorosis symptoms caused by iron deficiency.

Use a balanced feed at 200 ppm. To avoid chlorosis, ensure that fertilizer sources contain iron and manganese or provide supplemental forms in your fertilizer.

Maintain day temperature at 60-70° F and night temperature at 50-60° F. Provide 5,000-9,000 foot-candles.

QT petunias are susceptible to Pythium and Botrytis. Excessive moisture for long periods of time will damage roots, causing yellowing of plants. Maintain consistent soil moisture and regularly apply preventative root rot fungicides.
