Trending in 2017 By Tim Hodson

Hot off the presses, the Garden Media Group has released its 2017 Garden Trends Report.

The Garden Media Group is a Pennsylvania-based public relations and marketing firm that specializes in the green industry.

The report, Grow 365, takes a look at eight different trends that are changing the way consumers think, shop and garden. In the report, the authors reflect on “people’s desire to bring health and wellness into their everyday lives all year long.”

As consumers strive for a cleaner, healthier lifestyle, those desires are impacting the lawn and garden industry. The demand is “shifting how people buy plants and products, and garden both inside and out.”

The Garden Media Group has identified these eight trends to be on the lookout for in 2017: Peak Season; Wellness Hot Spots; Tidy Gardens; Clean Gardening; Uber-izing Gardening; Buzz Off!; Golden Age; and Gardening Love.

Among these trends, the report looks at how “new changes in indoor gardening technology combined with an ever-increasing demand for clean food means it’s easier than ever to garden 365 days-a-year.”

The authors also take a deeper dive into the topics to address things like:

  • What is driving the increasing consumer desire for clean food, clean air and clean medicine;
  • How to inspire millennials to garden year-round; and
  • How elevated consumer interest in horticulture shifts gardening from hobby to career.

Are you keeping an eye on the latest trends? Are you looking for insight into today’s consumers and what will happen in the coming year?

The trends in Grow 365 could have a major impact on the products you grow and sell, so why not check out the report?

It is available for free and you can download it at the Garden Media Group’s website.
