Bayer to Highlight New Insecticide at Cultivate’17

Environmental Science, a business unit of the Crop Science division of Bayer, will focus on providing growers with education and information about Altus insecticide at Cultivate ’17, July 15-18 in Columbus, Ohio.

Altus insecticide, which launched in May, introduces a new active ingredient, flupyradifurone, to the ornamentals market for targeted control of sucking pests.

“July kicks off the poinsettia season, making it the perfect time to consider Altus for whitefly control on poinsettias,” said John Wendorf, U.S. Ornamentals Business Manager for Bayer. “We look forward to sharing our newest solutions with the growers and suppliers that make this market so vibrant.”

Bayer will feature the full breadth of its integrated team of technical experts, ornamentals sales specialists and business managers onsite at the Cultivate show this year to meet one-on-one with growers. At the Bayer booth (#1551), visitors will be able to experience the following:

  • Learn about the new Altus Insecticide: Get an in-depth look at new Altus insecticide, an innovative solution for greenhouse growers that controls major sucking pests while offering flexibility of application before, during and after bloom and compatibility with honey bees, bumble bees and other beneficial arthropods.
  • Meet the Bayer Team: Meet one-on-one with Bayer’s technical experts and regional sales representatives to discuss key pest management solutions.
  • See Live Bee Display: Learn about the latest developments in pollinator health research through a live bee display with Jim Dempster, head apiarist at the Bayer Bee Care Center in North Carolina.

With a sustaining mission of Science For A Better Life, Bayer offers a robust product portfolio which includes key offerings, such as Marengo herbicide and Trigo fungicide.
