2018 Color of the Year: Ultra Violet By Jasmina Dolce

You may have heard by now that Pantone, the world- renowned color authority, has named Ultra Violet as 2018 Color of the Year.  Pantone 18-3838 Ultra Violet is a “dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade” that “communicates originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.”

What an excellent time to promote this inspiring shade! We are in a time where forward thinking is essential, especially in the green industry. It seems as each year passes, projections of sales and consumer trends become more and more uncertain. We need to consistently change our marketing strategies if we want to keep a pulse on the market.

And if Pantone’s projections are accurate, consumers will crave all things violet in 2018!

Opportunely, there is no shortage of violet blooms available in the market. Violet has been a popular floral shade for what seems like forever, and breeders continue to offer various varieties that incorporate it into their palettes.

Are violet-colored flowers a large part of your production? Have you seen an increase in demand for violet shades?

If you’d like to expand your collection of this cosmic and brilliant color in your production, here are some recent introductions that incorporate shades of Ultra Violet in their blooms.
