Terra Nova, Danziger Sign North American Licensing Agreement

Terra Nova Nurseries and Danziger have signed a licensing agreement, granting Danziger rights to produce and sell cuttings from Terra Nova Nurseries’ elite stock.

Order fulfillment will come from the Terra Nova stock at Danziger’s Guatemala facility. The Terra Nova cutting assortment will be added to Danziger’s existing production and marketing programs, which are open to all broker companies in North America.

The partnership was developed because the breeders’ assortments have very little overlap in terms of genera. The collaboration will create a more diverse and comprehensive offering of annual and perennial varieties for customers.

“The alliance will yield the best availability of high-quality, cutting-produced annuals in all markets,” says Ken Brown, managing owner of Terra Nova Nurseries. “Danziger is a world-class breeder with one of the best production sites in the world, coupled with having excellent market reach and customer service, and we consider this partnership an important key in further developing our domestic and international sales.”

The new partnership was launched in Europe in January. The launch in North America became official March 23 during California Spring Trials 2019.

Customers can expect availability of cuttings as of week 40 this year. Availabilities will be visible through Danziger’s ordering system.

Perennial marketing for the program will be conducted under the ThinkPlant umbrella, of which both companies are active members.

“We have set creative collaborations as one of our core values; this partnership is a good example and another step in fulfilling our mission of creating extraordinary success for our customers,” says Ori Danziger, deputy chief executive officer at Danziger. “Collaborating with a strong partner, such as Terra Nova Nurseries, creates synergy and a unique value proposition for the market.”
