A.M.A. Horticulture Celebrates 40th Anniversary

A.M.A. Horticulture Inc. (AMA) is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2022.

Since opening its doors in 1982, the family-owned horticulture supply business has grown to become a leading North American supplier, offering custom, innovative solutions for growers in a wide range of areas, including propagation, hydroponics, berries and more.

“They say age is just a number. After four decades of learning, growing and building partnerships within our industry, we feel more dynamic than ever,” says Connie Bradt-Monsma, who serves as managing director of AMA, together with her husband, Rick Bradt.

“We’re proud of what our team has accomplished and we continue to be motivated by the enterprising spirit of our customers, who are pushing boundaries and taking the lead in emerging markets.”

Al’s Flower Pouch, the RootSmart propagation system, Thirst Quencher and the AMA 60 growing container for organic greenhouse vegetables are just some of the company’s home-grown innovations.

“Learning is the backbone of growth in horticulture. It’s what drives us and our customers to move forward,” says Rick Bradt.

AMA will be launching a series of initiatives throughout the year focused on learning and growth. Members of the horticulture community can follow @amahort or subscribe to AMA’s newsletter for details.

“Our vision is to help cultivate the future of horticulture,” adds Connie. “For 40 years, we’ve been investing in this industry and the talented people who work in it, and we’ve seen incredible change and advancement. We want to celebrate that and keep the momentum going by offering learning opportunities to grow forward, together.”

Product Guide Released

AMA is proud to introduce the new Ellepots by A.M.A. Grower Guide, a quick-reference guide to help growers and propagators make the right selections for their crop, enhance bench density and more.

“We hope this guide will give growers and propagators quick tips to improve quality, efficiency, labor savings and sustainability in their operations,” said Rick Bradt, who serves as AMA’s managing director with his wife Connie Bradt-Monsma.

Ellepots by A.M.A. are a sustainable solution for plant propagation. A.M.A. manufactures 15 sizes of Ellepots, with more than 100 tray options and several soil formulas and paper types, including increasingly popular options for organic growers.
