Vertiberry, Sollum join for new greenhouse project
Vertiberry has chosen Sollum Technologies’ LED lighting system for its new sustainable indoor/TCEA strawberry demonstration facility, set to open by the end of 2024. The greenhouse will focus on both strawberry propagation and production, using advanced growing methods in a controlled environment.
The decision to partner with Sollum highlights Vertiberry’s commitment to producing high-quality, pesticide-free strawberries year-round while minimizing food miles. Sollum’s LED lighting system offers precise control over light intensity, spectrum, and timing, which is essential for optimizing strawberry production and energy efficiency.
“Our team is excited to partner with Sollum. Their dynamic lighting solution appears to be the most optimal to address our complex needs,” said Olivier Paulus, CEO and founder of Vertiberry. “Sollum’s superior understanding of light’s role in plant development made them the ideal partner for our new facility.”
The greenhouse will serve as a test bed for Vertiberry’s cultivation methods, aiming to enhance yield and sustainability in local strawberry production.
Louis Brun, CEO of Sollum Technologies, expressed pride in the collaboration, noting the lighting system’s adaptability to the needs of each crop stage.
