ACT webinar helps flower growers modernize operations

A new webinar hosted by ACT will offer flower and ornamental growers practical strategies for modernizing greenhouse operations using existing infrastructure.

The first session in the “Power Your Production: Real-World Tech for Better Crops & Better Margins” series will be held June 19 from 1 to 2 p.m. ET. Titled Modernizing Flower Production: Smarter Light, Climate & Irrigation, the free session is now open for registration.

ACT is a collaboration between horticulture technology providers Svensson, Priva, Grodan and Philips LED Lighting. The group aims to help mid- and high-tech greenhouse growers integrate advanced tools without requiring a full system overhaul.

The webinar will focus on crop-specific techniques for improving consistency and reducing resource use in ornamental production. Topics include dynamic shading, LED lighting for propagation, integrated irrigation and climate control, and substrate optimization to support healthy root systems.

“Experts from ACT will share real-world examples and technologies to support smarter growing,” the organizers stated.

Growers of bedding plants, orchids, roses, perennials and other ornamentals are encouraged to attend. A second session, focused on leafy greens, will follow later this year.

This series is designed to help U.S. greenhouse growers improve margins and crop quality through accessible innovations tailored to their production needs.
