AmericanHort‘s Back2Basics education provides those just entering the industry, or wanting a refresher, ground-level knowledge of horticultural topics. Two upcoming “Gearing Up for Spring” courses will provide knowledge to greenhouse and nursery growers on the must-have best management practices in water, pests and diseases, growing media, and plant techniques for successful growing operations.

Back2Basics “Gearing Up for Spring” Greenhouse Course

This greenhouse course will take place on Jan. 24, 2023, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. EST and is sponsored by Profile. Register here.

Topics covered in this course include:

  • Building greenhouse substrates presented by Gladys Opiyo of Profile Products/HydraFiber,
  • Reading and understanding pesticide labels presented by Drew Jeffers, Clemson Extension,
  • Water quality presented by Byran Furhmann, Ph.D., from SePRO Corp., and
  • Proper planting for common ornamental crops presented by Bodie Pennisi Ph.D., from the University of Georgia.
