BASF Introduces Two Products for the Greenhouse Market

Last week, BASF Professional Turf & Ornamentals announced the launch of Mozart TR fungicide and Beethoven TR miticide/insecticide. Both new products deliver active ingredients using BASF’s Total Release (TR) technology.

Mozart TR fungicide, with the active ingredient fludioxonil, controls a broad-spectrum of challenging greenhouse diseases, including alternaria, botrytis, downy mildew, powdery mildew and rust.

Beethoven TR miticide/insecticide, with the active ingredient etoxazole, controls mites, including the two-spotted spider mite, and suppresses whiteflies.

BASF’s Total Release technology enables growers to save on labor costs and offers better plant safety and flexible reentry times. Packaged in an aerosol can, growers simply place Mozart TR or Beethoven TR in the greenhouse – according to label directions – press the release button and leave the area.

To broaden the spectrum of insect control, growers can use Beethoven TR with BASF’s other Total Release insecticides, including Attain TR insecticide, Pyrethrum TR insecticide and Duraplex TR insecticide.

Mozart TR and Beethoven TR officially go on sale Oct. 1, 2010 and are labeled for use in commercial greenhouses on bedding plants, cut flowers, flowering hanging baskets, potted flowering plants, foliage and ornamentals. Mozart TR is also labeled for use on perennials.
