Beekenkamp Board Member Dies

Peter Persoon, general manager of Beekenkamp Group and former director of Deliflor Chrysanten, died unexpectedly on July 22 at the age of 64 after being diagnosed with bone marrow cancer a few months ago and his general health deteriorating. Despite the diagnosed illness, Persoon remained positive and committed himself to the family business until the very end. Beekenkamp wrote in its announcement that “we lose in him not only a warm family man, a loving husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather, but also a passionate board member of the family business Beekenkamp Group.”
In 2000, Persoon joined the family business, where he held the joint position of general manager of Beekenkamp Group with An Beekenkamp. He also managed Deliflor Chrysanten until 2018.
From 2018, the management was expanded with Peter Zaat and Marc Driessen, and they formed a close team together with Persoon and An Beekenkamp. In this position, Persoon has focused on overarching tasks for the group in recent years, such as general and financial affairs, ICT, geothermal energy and support for activities abroad. He was very involved in the sales and production locations abroad and will also be missed by the employees in Colombia, Japan, China, United Stages, Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia.
