DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 10/31 — GPN, Nexus Looking for Successful Interns

GPN and Nexus Corp. have announced a call for entries for the 2012 GPN/Nexus Intern of the Year. The deadline for applications has been extended to Oct. 31, 2011.The deadline to apply for the GPN/Nexus Intern of the Year scholarship has been extended until next Monday, Oct. 31.

All materials MUST be received in our Arlington Heights office by 5 p.m. CST on Oct. 31!

GPN and Nexus Corp. have announced a call for entries for the 2012 GPN/Nexus Intern of the Year.

The GPN/Nexus Intern of the Year will be the subject of our cover story in January 2012 and will receive a $3,000 check; travel and lodging expenses to OFA Short Course in Columbus, Ohio, next July; and a complimentary four-day registration to 2012 Short Course courtesy of OFA.

To qualify for the scholarship, the student must be working on an undergraduate degree in horticulture at a four-year accredited university during the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 academic year and needs to have completed a greenhouse internship in 2011.

To apply for this scholarship, students meeting this criteria need to submit:

• A cover letter stating what university the applicant attends and requesting consideration for the scholarship;
• A letter of recommendation on university letterhead from the applicant’s academic advisor; and
• A minimum 1,000 word essay describing the internship experience including who the student interned for, what his or her responsibilities were and what was learned during the internship.
