Eason Horticultural Resources Celebrates 25 Years

Eason Horticultural Resources (EHR) is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

In 1993, Jim Eason made a bold decision to create a new, more efficient model for horticultural broker sales to properly serve the independent growers and garden centers.

He wanted to develop a streamlined horticultural sales company for entrepreneurial salespeople that utilizes technology efficiently and provide critical, unbiased product evaluation with reliable customer-centric service.

The following year Sonney Mosley joined EHR and became a partner in the business. The two men shared a deep commitment to their customers and the vendors that they had served over the past 20 years and proceeded to expand the business around the United States.

Eason and Mosley recognized that the model of how broker companies worked at the time was not the best fit for either customers or salespeople. Using innovative computer software that provides salespeople and their customers instant access to all product and order information in the field, immediate transmission of purchase orders and rigorous order fulfillment follow up, they built a company that provides a salesperson the flexibility of selling products they believe in and satisfies the individual unique needs of their customers.

Today the company has more than 20 outside salespeople located throughout the country, selling a diverse array of products to the horticulture industry.  Those products include unrooted and rooted young plant inputs (annuals, perennials, tropicals, etc.), bare root, prefinished plants, finished nursery stock, perennials, flowering tropicals, seed and greenhouse structures. Customers, vendors and salespeople are served by fifteen dedicated professionals at EHR’s main office in Ft. Wright, Kentucky (near Cincinnati, Ohio), who coordinate order fulfillment, shipping, and invoicing.
