FMC and Atticus reach settlement on CTPR dispute
FMC and Atticus have reached a settlement regarding their dispute over chlorantraniliprole (CTPR), leading to the withdrawal of Atticus’s declaratory judgment action against FMC.
As part of the agreement, Atticus plans to enter the CTPR market beginning Dec. 7, 2025. The settlement concludes a long-running legal issue over the use and distribution rights of the insect control active ingredient.
“We are pleased to arrive at this professional and respectful outcome that advances a superior chemistry through its full product life cycle and agronomic potential,” said Randy Canady, CEO of Atticus.
Atticus also announced its Eclipse initiative, designed to increase awareness of its upcoming CTPR product line and help customers make more informed purchasing decisions ahead of the next growing season. The company said the initiative aims to provide cost-effective insect control options through a competitive CTPR portfolio positioned alongside existing branded products.
The agreement allows both companies to move forward while expanding market access to CTPR, a widely used active ingredient for pest management in various crops, including greenhouse and ornamental production.
