GLASE to Present Lighting Webinar This Week
GLASE (Greenhouse Lighting & Systems Engineering) will present a free webinar this week on Horticultural Lighting Systems Energy-Savings Calculations.
The webinar will take place Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. eastern time
In controlled environment agriculture supplemental lighting is required to support year-long crop production. In this presentation Neil Mattson from Cornell University and AJ Both from Rutgers University will talk about the yield and economic impacts of different supplemental lighting systems.
During the first part of the presentation, Mattson and Both will discuss the relation between the use of supplemental lighting and biomass yield increase.
In the second part of the presentation, they will discuss how to determine the capacity of a supplemental lighting system and how to calculate its implementation and operational costs.
