Greenway Farms adopts Sollum dynamic LED lighting
Sollum Technologies has partnered with Maryland-based Greenway Farms to provide dynamic LED lighting for the farm’s aquaponic leafy greens production.
Greenway Farms produces leafy greens and fresh fish year-round using a sustainable aquaponic system that avoids GMOs, pesticides, herbicides and synthetic chemicals. The operation serves customers across the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia region, emphasizing food safety, nutrition and local distribution.
To support crop quality and consistency, Greenway Farms selected Sollum’s SF-ONE LED fixtures, managed through the company’s SUN as a Service platform. This system enables growers to develop custom light recipes and control lighting zone by zone, tailored specifically to each crop’s growth stage.
“We chose Sollum for its unmatched flexibility,” said Elshan Bal, partner at Greenway Farms. “Being able to fine-tune our light spectrum and intensity at the zone level gives us a new level of control over crop quality, uniformity and scheduling. This adaptability is a real game changer for our production.”
According to Sollum, dynamic lighting can help growers reduce energy use, increase crop uniformity and improve operational efficiency — all while supporting sustainability goals.
This collaboration represents another expansion of Sollum’s presence in the leafy greens sector, where demand for flexible and efficient lighting solutions continues to grow.
