The companies, which operate under a shared board structure, completed a review of board policies and governance in late 2023. The decision to expand the board comes in response to recent business growth and operational shifts. The board oversees financial direction, strategic planning and capital investment for both companies.
Midwest Groundcovers, based in Illinois and Michigan, manages more than 700 acres of nursery production across five sites. Midwest Trading, also headquartered in Illinois, supplies custom-engineered soil mixes, amendments, mulches and horticultural supplies for the greenhouse and nursery industry.
Crane and Davey bring expertise in finance, agriculture and strategic leadership. Their appointments are intended to provide insight and guidance as the companies plan for a sustainable future.
