Modine updates heater series for efficiency

Modine has revamped its Hot Dawg unit heaters, enhancing efficiency, performance and design to better meet the needs of residential and commercial users.

The company announced improvements to its gas-fired, electric and hydronic heating systems, including updates to the gas-fired Hot Dawg unit heater. Changes include a dimpled heat exchanger tube to increase efficiency and reduce noise, as well as repositioned manometer connections for easier access. Additional updates allow for easier installation and maintenance, such as a relocated flame roll-out sensor and external gas line connections.

The Hot Dawg H2O hydronic unit now features a three-row coil and copper stub-outs for boiler-system users, while also adopting a modernized grey-and-black aesthetic similar to its gas and electric counterparts.

Jon Schlemmer, vice president and general manager of Modine’s heating business, said the redesign aligns with the company’s goal of improving heating solutions. “We are thrilled to introduce our revamped line of gas-fired, electric and hydronic Dawgs, which come with improvements that enhance their performance, efficiency and design,” he said.

Modine’s Amp Dawg electric heater, introduced last year, remains available in 5.7kW and 9.0kW models for residential and workshop applications.
