Knock Out rose gets national day recognition

Star Roses and Plants announced that National Knock Out Rose Day has been officially added to the National Day Calendar. The annual celebration will take place on the Friday before Mother’s Day, beginning May 9, 2025.

The new designation coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Knock Out rose. Of nearly 30,000 annual submissions, only about 20 are selected for recognition by the calendar each year.

“The Knock Out rose has become so recognizable over the last 25 years, we knew we wanted to try to get it nationally recognized with its own day, and we’re thrilled that it was selected,” said marketing manager Susan Bacus Morgan.

Star Roses and Plants is encouraging independent garden centers and online retailers to celebrate the rose throughout the spring season. The company is offering free marketing materials to support promotions, including point-of-purchase displays, downloadable images, social media graphics and copy content.

While largely ornamental, the Knock Out rose’s popularity has made it a staple in many consumer gardens. Greenhouse growers who supply retail centers may benefit from increased seasonal demand due to the new recognition and ongoing anniversary promotions.

Retailers can order free point-of-purchase materials that are specially designed for the 25th anniversary of the Knock Out brand by visiting the Star Roses and Plants online storefront.
Hi-res images, social media graphics, and copy content are also available to download as part of the brand’s e-retailer asset library.
