New Mexico Shares Proposed Rules For Cannabis Producers

The New Mexico Regulation & Licensing Department has made public the proposed rules for adult use cannabis producer licensing. The department is now seeking comments from the public by June 29, when a hearing will be held for the proposed rules.

The proposed rules would cover two types of cannabis businesses: vertically integrated cannabis establishments and an integrated cannabis microbusinesses. Requirements for licensing, transportation, quality assurance testing and more.

The rule hearing will also consider the regulation of cannabis licensees, proposed fees for corresponding license types, the plant count, canopy or square footage limit for each license type, and per-plant fees applied to licensees that are growing more than 200 cannabis plants.
