ScottsMiracle-Gro announces leadership changes, CFO transition
The ScottsMiracle-Gro Co. has named Nate Baxter as president and COO, expanding his role to oversee company strategies, brands, sales, supply chain, marketing, R&D and IT. Chris Hagedorn, president of the Hawthorne Gardening Co., will assume the role of executive vice president and chief of staff to Chairman and CEO Jim Hagedorn, focusing on corporate affairs and overseeing the Hawthorne subsidiary.
Baxter joined the company in 2023 as executive vice president of technology and operations and was appointed COO in September. Hagedorn has been with ScottsMiracle-Gro since 2011 and leads the Hawthorne division, which focuses on hydroponic and indoor growing products.
In a leadership change, CFO Matt Garth will step down on Dec. 31, 2024, after stabilizing the company during the Project Springboard initiative. Mark Scheiwer, VP and treasurer since 2022, will become interim CFO and chief accounting officer on Jan. 1, 2025.
