Source.ag secures $17.5M to scale AI for growers

Source.ag, an Amsterdam-based developer of artificial intelligence tools for controlled environment agriculture, has raised $17.5 million in a Series B funding round. The investment, led by Astanor with participation from seed breeder Enza Zaden and grower cooperative Harvest House, brings the company’s total funding to more than $60 million in five years.
The company provides AI-driven software designed to support greenhouse vegetable growers with yield forecasting, irrigation automation and data-based crop decision-making. Since its founding in 2020, the software has been implemented in more than 300 greenhouses covering about 2,500 hectares across 18 countries. These operations supply tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers to global markets.
Source.ag’s tools aim to help growers address labor shortages and the need for greater production efficiency in controlled environment systems. The company describes its platform as a digital support system that consolidates growing data and helps operators optimize crop management.

“This Series B round confirms the industry’s belief in our vision,” said Rien Kamman, CEO and co-founder, Source.ag. “The grower is the core player, the one putting healthy food on supermarket shelves, and we build the solutions they need to excel.”
The new funding will be used to expand the company’s product offerings and scale partnerships globally. Source.ag continues to work with seed and production partners to integrate data-based decision tools across the supply chain.
