T.O. Plastics advances sustainability efforts

T.O. Plastics, a thermoforming manufacturer, has initiated major upgrades to its recycling capabilities and manufacturing facility to enhance sustainability and processing capacity.

The company has invested in advanced recycling technology and an integrated resin recovery system at its Clearwater facility. This allows T.O. Plastics to utilize over 99% of raw waste material and process externally sourced scrap, diverting millions of pounds of waste from landfills annually. Consequently, their horticultural containers and trays are now made with at least 95% recycled material.T.O. “Sustainability is no longer a choice but a necessity,” said Jared Rusch, vice president of sales and marketing for T.O. Plastics. “Our latest recycling efforts mark a significant milestone as we continuously seek out and implement more effective practices to reduce our environmental footprint.”

To meet growing customer demand for sustainable products, T.O. Plastics has also upgraded its production facility, adding a high-volume extruder line to increase capacity and incorporate state-of-the-art technology.

“These upgrades reflect our commitment to environmental responsibility and the success of our customers,” said Paul Meschke, president of T.O. Plastics. “We believe these new capabilities will make a significant impact while maintaining the high-quality products our customers expect.”
