
Wave petunias celebrates 30 years with new initiatives, collaborations in 2025
Wave petunias will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2025 and has unveiled its plans to commemorate its milestone with events, product launches and a new consumer holiday, “National Wave Day,” set for May 3.
Since its debut in 1995, Wave Petunias have offered gardeners worldwide a distinctive pink packaging and simple care requirements. In honor of its 30th anniversary, PanAmerican Seed, the parent company behind Wave Petunias, is rolling out several initiatives designed to boost consumer interest and support greenhouse growers and retailers.
Among the highlights, PanAmerican Seed will debut a new product in the Wave Pansies line — Top Wave pansies — at the 2025 California Spring Trials (CAST).
“After 30 years, the Wave brand remains so special to the horticulture industry, not only for its pioneering ways, but because it continues to evolve and meet the needs of the new consumer,” said Sarah Makiejus, global marketing manager for PanAmerican Seed and Wave brand manager. “We have an amazing anniversary year planned that will excite the consumer, create a positive buzz around our industry and build business for our customers.”

In addition to the product launch, Wave Petunias will collaborate with a renowned artist to create a unique installation celebrating growth, hope and the beauty of flowers. More details on this creative partnership will be announced in the coming months.
For 2025 demand, PanAmerican Seed will provide a free promotional package in November, which will include videos, signage, social media posts and other marketing tools to support local events.For best availability of Wave petunias and pansies, greenhouses are encouraged to contact their suppliers early for seeds and plugs. Further announcements on how to participate in upcoming events and register as a retail location for Wave products are expected soon.
