- Member of the winning team of the Rooftop Garden Competition at the University of Arizona that proposed and designed an edible crop greenhouse that is in production on the roof of the UA Student Union to provide produce for underprivileged communities.
- Recipient of the Edward F. Hayes Graduate Research Forum for presenting his master’s degree research at The Ohio State University.

After Hours: When he’s not helping customers solve their plant nutrition problems, Dan’s hobbies include growing plants, participating in sports, fishing, eating, exercising, reading, traveling and socializing with friends.

On His Dinner Table, Bookshelf and TV: Dan’s favorite food is any seafood; his favorite books are the Harry Potter series; and “Goodfellas” is his favorite movie. “I am a big fan of gangster movies.”
