What led you to work in the horticulture industry?

  • I grew up hiking, biking, kayaking and camping, so I loved nature. My first job was a cashier at Stop & Shop, a regional grocery store chain. One night, they needed someone to cover the florist department, and my love for the horticultural industry began with cut flowers and houseplants.
  • From there, I tried new jobs every year to figure out what I liked best, from garden centers, to florists, landscaping and a golf course.
