Nathan Jahnke

• Helped develop a cut flower design course at North Carolina State University with Julie Sherk during graduate school.
• Earned a Ph.D. in horticultural science: “In many ways, it was a long and hard five years. It is difficult to see the end goal and even more challenging to hope that you find a great and exciting job. Luckily, I did!”
• In 2022, took on leadership of the technical services team at Ball.

A History of Horticulture: Nathan started Nathan’s Greenhouse with his dad in middle school, the same dad that grew 6- to 7-foot cannas that Nathan and his brothers used for playing ninja. Still today, Nathan could garden and work in the yard all the time.

Goodbye, Reddi-wip: He can’t live without homemade whipped cream: “The stuff from a can just doesn’t cut it!”
