Project EverGreen Ends 2007 with a BangSource: Project EverGreen

Project EverGreen ended 2007 with a bang, according to Den Gardner, executive director of the national nonprofit organization representing diverse segments of the green industry. The organization had a strong year, with more 112 contributions from individuals, businesses and associations within the industry.

In 2007, Project EverGreen was able to connect more than 1,200 community volunteers with 4,300 families through GreenCare for Troops; beautify the landscapes of new homes through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity; award two $2,500 scholarships; and kick off Yard Enthusiasts of America (YEA!), among other new programs.

“This has been an amazing year,” Gardner says. “We’ve reached new heights with industry support, and that has allowed us to expand our mission and create even more programs and resources to educate consumers about the importance of preserving and enhancing green spaces.”

The organization’s mission is to raise awareness of the environmental, economic and lifestyle benefits of landscapes and promote the significance of those who preserve and enhance green spaces at home, work and play.
