Natives have emerged as a popular, fast-growing segment of the perennial market, noted John Friel, marketing manager. “Native Wonders gives a grower a well-blazed trail into this niche. Some plants may be unfamiliar to a lot of growers, while with others, I hear people say ‘That’s a native?’ I never knew that!’ And that harks back to what a rich source this continent is.”
For 2010-11, the Native Wonders collection more than doubles – now consisting of 27 ornamental grasses and 41 perennials.
