Greenhouse Climate Control Innovator DiesSource: Wadsworth Control Systems

Bob Klaeser, who designed two of the most popular greenhouse controllers for Wadsworth Control Systems, died on Oct.12, in Arvada, Colo.

Bob Klaeser, who designed two of the most popular greenhouse controllers for Wadsworth Control Systems, the STEP 50 and the STEP 500, died on Oct.12, in Arvada, Colo.

Klaeser began working at Wadsworth Control Systems in 1970 by joining George Dean Sr. in the field pulling wire and doing installations for six-months prior to beginning his work designing automation equipment.

He designed Wadsworth’s first computerized greenhouse climate system in the mid-1980s and later became a partner in Wadsworth with George Dean Jr. and remained so until his retirement in 2003.

Klaeser was a graduate of the Electrical Engineering College at California Polytechnic State University and also earned an accounting degree from Metropolitan State College.
