Will 2014 Be a Radiant Year for You? By Tim Hodson

Did you hear the news last week? The color experts at Pantone announced their Color of the Year for 2014.

Can I have a drum roll please? The Color of the Year for next year is – Radiant Orchid (Pantone 17-5641)!

According to Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone’s executive director, radiant orchid was selected because it “encourages expanded creativity and originality.”

“An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm,” Eiseman remarks.

Pantone says Radiant Orchid is “modern and surprisingly versatile” that blends both cool and warm undertones. “It complements olive and deeper hunter greens, and offers a gorgeous combination when paired with turquoise, teal and even light yellows.”

What do you think of Pantone’s selection? Do you love it? Like it? Or hate it? How will Radiant Orchid impact your 2014 product mix?

Drop me a line at thodson@greatamericanpublish.com and let me know what your opinion is of Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2014 – Radiant Orchid.
