UConn/UMass Program Highlights Biological Controls
UConn Extension and UMass Extension are sponsoring New Advances for Biological Controls for Indoor and Outdoor Production of Ornamentals, June 21. The one-day educational program will be hosted at the University of Connecticut Student Union.
Speakers featured include:
- John Sanderson, Cornell University — New Developments You Can Use from Biocontrol Research
- Ron Valentin, Bioline Agrosciences — Bio-control developments on a Global Level
- Roger McGaughey, Pioneer Gardens — Biological Control Agents use in Perennial Growing
- Mary Gardiner, Ohio State University – Good Garden Bugs: Identifying Native Predators and Parasitoids Common in Outdoor Ornamental Production
- Paula Shrewsbury, University of Maryland — Encouraging Beneficials to enhance biological control in outdoor production.
A registration fee of $40 is due by June 14, payable by check only to the University of Connecticut. Included in the cost of admission: coffee, continental breakfast, lunch, informational handouts and parking.
Five pesticide recertification credits will be offered for attendees in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
