What a Season! By Tim Hodson

In case you hadn’t heard, a little history was made last week.

After a 108-year drought, my beloved Chicago Cubs finally won the World Series.

It was a season to remember for us long suffering fans. One that I know I will never forget.

It all started last spring when the Cubs won 24 of the first 30 games of the season and concluded with a Game 7 win in the World Series last Wednesday night.

The team won 103 games (a .640 winning percentage), scored 808 runs and hit 199 home runs, and the pitching staff had the best earned run average in baseball.

Over the 162-game season, 38 different players contributed to the team’s winning efforts. Seven Cubs made this year’s National League All Star team, and there’s a real good chance the league’s most valuable player and Cy Young Award winners this year will be Chicago Cubs.

During my lifetime, the Cubs motto was always, “Wait until next year!” Well, I’m happy to say next year is here!img_2016

And hopefully the Cubs’ ownership has built a team that will continue for years to come.

We’ll have to wait and see.

How Was Your 2016 Season?

Did you get off to a hot start in the spring? What kinds of wins did you and your team experience this year? Did you hit any home runs with new product introductions?

Did you run into any slumps this year? Who were the all stars on your team and what were the top performers in your greenhouse?

Drop me a line at thodson@greatamericanpublish.com and let me know how the 2016 season was for you and your team. I’d also be interested to hear what you have planned for the 2017 season.
