• Completed her Master’s degree research on phenotyping diverse strawberry germplasm for aid in marker-assisted breeding, and marker-trait association for red stele disease resistance.
• Current research involves evaluating, breeding and researching a very large, unique group of germplasm consisting of more than 70 plant genera.

Megan loves the outdoors and in her spare time likes to hike and explore in the woods, garden and is into beekeeping. Her favorite food is “anything cooked while camping.” She also enjoys brewing her own beer and making mead.

Megan developed her love for plants in a very limiting growing environment, the U.S. hardiness Zone 4 of South Dakota.
