After Hurricane Katrina, worked with the Charleston Horticulture Society to deliver truckloads of plants and trees to replant several parks along the coast and serve food to people still living in shelters.

Her favorite place to vacation is either at home in her garden with her four dogs or on any beach.

Fun Facts

Her great-great-uncle was a preacher and snake handler in the mountains of Virginia who died from a rattlesnake bite. “It is no coincidence I have taken classes on snake handling as well, since we had to deal to with lots of snakes in the nursery business.”
