BioSafe Systems launches BioPhyter for crop health

BioSafe Systems has announced the launch of BioPhyter, a new product for horticulture and agriculture that uses a plant-derived strain of Beauveria bassiana to support crop health and resilience. Unlike traditional uses of the fungus, BioPhyter functions as a systemic endophyte, colonizing the plant internally from root to leaf.

The product aims to enhance physiological functions such as nutrient distribution, photosynthesis and structural integrity by strengthening the plant’s vascular system. This internal support helps crops tolerate both abiotic and biotic stressors, contributing to more resilient growth.

BioPhyter also contributes to integrated pest management (IPM) programs. Its anti-herbivory effects support pest control without harming beneficial insects, offering growers an additional IPM-compatible tool.

Jeff Kline, vice president of sales at BioSafe Systems, said, “We’re thrilled to announce the launch of BioPhyter, a new systemic endophyte, to our innovative portfolio.” He emphasized the product’s compatibility with other biological tools like LIVENTIA soil microbes and its role in nutrient delivery and plant vigor.

The introduction of BioPhyter continues BioSafe Systems’ focus on sustainable solutions for modern crop production. It is now available for growers seeking to integrate systemic biological support into their management programs.
