The Journey into the Future Begins Now By Tim Hodson

Did you ever wish you had a time machine that would take you into the future so you could find out what the horticulture industry will look like in the years to come? Are you curious to see how growers will be producing their crops, what kind of varieties they will be growing, and who is breeding, growing, selling and buying them?

That is why we created GPN’s 40 Under 40 back in 2012 — to provide you with a little glimpse into the future. Our goal is to recognize the young professionals who are really making things happen today — and will continue to do so for many, many more years.

We want you to be aware of our industry’s all stars that are under the age of 40 and will help determine how our industry will look and operate in the future. The 160 men and women that make up our previous four classes are rocking and rolling in their jobs today. They are doing things everyone needs to know about.

These individuals could have a major influence on your business one year, five years É maybe 10 years from now. So it is in your best interest to get to know them now.

And in the May issue of GPN we are going to let you know about the Class of 2016 of GPN’s 40 Under 40.

Let the Nominations Begin

Next year will mark the fifth anniversary of our 40 Under 40 program. We are now accepting applications for the Class of 2016. Do you know anyone that should be in our next class?

If you do, we want to know about him or her. To nominate someone for the Class of 2016, just go to www.gpnmag.com and click on the Awards button in the upper right hand corner. There you will find the nomination form where you can let us know who you think deserves to be in next year’s class and why you think they should be recognized.

While you are there, be sure to check out our alumni from the past four years. It is an amazing group of individuals that is taking us on our journey to the future!
