Turn over a new leaf at California Spring Trials 2025 By Heather Machovina

California Spring Trials is always a blast of new forms, colors and trending tips. Officially set for March 25 to 29, more than 30 breeding companies are in preparation to show off the newest plant varieties for 2026 release and the latest genetic improvements to current favorites. 

If you’ve participated in CAST in past years, you know that the registration and scheduling process has taken a roller coaster ride of ups and downs. Disneyland was not supposed to be one of the stops at this event. 

New in 2025, the National Garden Bureau rolled out an official website for California Spring Trials registration! At caspringtrials.us, you gain access to all-in-one registration, details for all locations and breeders, suggested itineraries and helpful links throughout. 

Because locations are spread out along the coast from Gilroy to Somis, the trip planner tab of the website is an ideal place to spend quality time planning your trip. The two suggested schedules — beginning either from the northern or southern regions of the state — provides detailed travel information about airports, approximate time lengths for traveling between locations by car and a breakdown of stops per day.
