AmericanHort CEO Ken Fisher plans leadership transition

AmericanHort president and CEO Ken Fisher will step down at the end of May 2026 after a decade leading the national trade association representing the U.S. horticulture industry.

During his tenure, Fisher guided efforts to expand advocacy for greenhouse and nursery growers, strengthen the Horticultural Research Institute and grow member education programs. The association’s annual Cultivate event also increased in scale and industry impact during this period, becoming a major gathering for growers, suppliers and educators.

Fisher said he believes the timing supports the organization’s continued progress. “AmericanHort is strong, forward-looking and well-positioned for the future,” Fisher said in the announcement. He said the transition will allow new leadership to bring new ideas while he pursues future opportunities within the industry.

The AmericanHort Board of Directors will begin planning the leadership transition and search process immediately. Fisher will remain in his role through May 2026 to ensure continuity.

AmericanHort serves more than 20,000 members and affiliated businesses across the horticulture supply chain, including greenhouse and nursery growers, breeders, retailers and landscape professionals. The organization works on industry research, education and advocacy to support the commercial growing sector.
