Costa Farms expand BloomSelect hibiscus for 2025

Costa Farms will expand its BloomSelect hibiscus line for the 2025 season, introducing new genetics and merchandising options aimed at improving performance at retail.

The updated line includes new exclusive hybrids developed through Costa Farms’ 12-year partnership with Graff Breeding, a Denmark-based hibiscus breeder. The selections are chosen by Costa Farms’ in-house team for their vigorous growth, long-lasting blooms and improved disease resistance.

A key addition is the Trio Bowl hibiscus, a container featuring three different hibiscus colors, designed to increase visual appeal and streamline sales. Other updates include enhanced packaging and retail displays intended to support in-store education and merchandising.

“We focus on helping our retail partners win at the bench with high-quality, stunning new hibiscus varieties that perform,” said horticulturist Justin Hancock. “These new BloomSelect introductions bring vibrant color, innovative combos and premium genetics to create an irresistible plant.”

The BloomSelect program supplies retail-ready hibiscus to garden centers and nurseries across North America. Costa Farms emphasized that the updates aim to drive impulse sales and help retailers differentiate their outdoor plant offerings.
