Danziger announces top trial varieties for North America

A summer filled with excessive heat and record rainfalls provided challenging growing conditions at many trial locations across North America. Trial managers and attendees noted several standouts including these new Danziger 2026 introductions and noteworthy tried and true varieties.

New Guinea Impatiens ‘Harmony Colorfall Flamingo’

From north to south, the hot pink blooms of ‘Harmony Colorfall Flamingo’ captured attention at several trials this season. This first trailing New Guinea Impatiens series features long-lasting blooms that can handle the sun and heat. Its color saturated flowers and unique form create outstanding containers and hanging baskets.

Petunia ‘Capella Hello Sunshine’

The light yellow blooms of ‘Capella Hello Sunshine’ created the look of the summer in trial gardens. Perfect on its own or for creating sunny combos, this petunia showed off its performance across North America. Hello Sunshine, like the other 23 colors in the Capella series, blooms early and offers excellent performance in propagation and its ability to create a tidy pot with minimal PGR use.

Echinacea ‘Panama Red’

Striking red blooms made trial attendees stop and stare at this stunning coneflower. The world’s first URC echinacea continues to capture attention with unstoppable bloom power. This perennial offers first-year flowering with no vernalization or bulking required. Its upright habit make it suitable for the landscape or in larger containers and combos.

Verbena ‘Vanessa Compact Bicolor Marshmallow’

The pretty white and pink blooms of Vanessa ‘Compact Bicolor Marshmallow’ stole the show at many trials. This 2026 introduction showed off its bloom power, no matter the weather. The entire Vanessa verbena series features proven mildew resistance, excellent adaptability to environmental changes and long-lasting flowers. This series stays compact with little to no PGRs.

Nemesia ‘Nesia Pink Crush’

Beautiful color and long-lasting blooms set Nemesia ‘Nesia Pink Crush’ apart, and the vibrant color was a favorite of pollinators. The Nesia series is more heat tolerant than others on the market, allowing for a longer bloom time. The entire series is suitable for packs, pots and combo programs.

Petunia ‘Blue Diamond’

Part of Danziger’s Red Carpet Collection, Blue Diamond is a standout petunia with a unique pattern. Visitors to Plant Peddler’s trial gardens commented on this petunia unstoppable bloom power and outstanding performance in the landscape.
