HilverdaFlorist and Italian breeder DIEM Breeding have announced a new partnership for the global sales and production of the Hibiscus D-Tahiti series.
Under the agreement, HilverdaFlorist will manage cutting production, global marketing and commercial activities. DIEM Breeding will continue developing new varieties within the D-Tahiti line, which includes compact, branching Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis cultivars suitable for garden, patio and indoor use.

Cuttings will be produced at HilverdaFlorist’s facility in Kenya, and the product will be marketed through its established international network.
“DIEM Breeding is an absolute specialist in Hibiscus breeding,” said Sjaak Sijm, commercial team lead at HilverdaFlorist. “This cooperation strengthens our portfolio with a proven and recognisable product for our customers.”
Alexandro Bock, commercial responsible at DIEM Breeding, said the collaboration allows the company to focus more fully on targeted breeding efforts. “We now have all the possibilities to increase our effort in breeding specific and diverse lines that could satisfy different type of customers around the world,” he said.
The D-Tahiti series features large flowers in solid and bicolored varieties that bloom from spring to autumn. Plants have a flower lifespan of 2 to 3 days with continuous blooming.
Growers can view the series during FlowerTrials 2025, June 10–13, at the HilverdaFlorist location.
