The 2010 Spring Meadow Nursery Scholarship of $1,500 was awarded to Emily Silverman, North Carolina State University senior. Silverman, a horticulture major, says it is her professional goal to be an ornamental plant breeder.

The Spring Meadow Scholarship Fund, initiated in 1999, is dedicated to helping aspiring students from across the country obtain a degree in horticulture.

The 2010 Muggets Scholarship of $1,000 was awarded to Colorado State University sophomore, Daniel Buelow of Lafayette, Colo. Buelow is majoring in environmental horticulture with a concentration in nursery and landscape management.

An informal group called the Mugget Growers of America (MGA) began in 1981 as a social, educational and fundraising group. Each year, MGA participants meet at the ANLA Clinic to discuss important plant issues while contributing to the Muggets scholarship fund.
