Thomas Orr has been promoted to president of Pöppelmann Plastics USA. He joined the company in May 2010 as vice president of operations, and became president on March 1, upon the retirement of Jack Shelton, who opened the company’s first U.S. operation. Shelton will continue to serve on a consulting basis and as a member of the board.

Orr holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a BS in finance from The Ohio State University. Before joining Pöppelmann, he spent 20 years with manufacturing companies, holding executive positions in sales, marketing, operations and finance. His experience includes the development, marketing and sales of products for manufacturing, distributor and retail customers.

“Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to work with Jack Shelton and his team while learning more about the horticultural and plastics industries,” Orr said. “The Pöppelmann name represents high-quality products and excellent service in the plastics industry, and I will continue to support and enhance the company’s reputation in the U.S. market. This is a very exciting time of growth for Pöppelmann, and I look forward to serving the company in this leadership capacity.”
