Rudbeckia Solar Sisters earns 3 top industry awards

Bloomin’ Easy Plants’ rudbeckia ‘Solar Sisters’ has earned three major industry awards this season, including the 2025 Retailers’ Choice Award at Cultivate’25 and both Industry’s Choice and People’s Choice awards at the University of Georgia Trial Gardens Open House.

The UGA event was held June 4 and 7 in Athens, Georgia, where ‘Solar Sisters’ was recognized for its eye-catching performance. The Trial Gardens team noted, “Tons of gigantic flowers won everyone over!”

At Cultivate’25, held July 13-15 in Columbus, Ohio, ‘Solar Sisters’ was selected by independent garden center buyers as a top product at the show. It was featured in the New Varieties Showcase and on display at booth 2835.

“Solar Sisters rudbeckia is impossible to ignore,” said program manager Shelby Klassen. “The large, double flowers pack a multi-colored punch and resemble chrysanthemum flowers.”

The variety offers continuous blooms from June to frost, sturdy stems and compact growth, making it well-suited for patio programs and colder regions where it’s used as an annual.

Propagation material is available through Van Belle Youngplants and Pioneer Gardens. Retail-ready plants are available from Bloomin’ Easy container growers.
