Sensaphone launches soil moisture sensor for irrigation management
Sensaphone has introduced a new soil moisture sensor designed to help commercial growers, landscapers and agriculturalists optimize irrigation management.
The sensor measures water content in soil and other growing media, providing real-time data to a Sensaphone remote monitoring system. This allows users to receive instant alerts when moisture levels fall outside the desired range, helping prevent over- or underwatering.
The soil moisture sensor works with most Sensaphone systems and can integrate with irrigation controllers, halting automatic watering cycles when moisture levels are sufficient. This helps conserve water and reduces the risk of fertilizer leaching into the soil.
The sensor offers a high degree of accuracy across various soil types and functions effectively in temperatures ranging from -40° F to 140° F. Pre-calibrated for use with mineral soils, potting soils and rockwool, it provides a precise solution for a wide range of applications, including greenhouses, cannabis facilities and golf courses.
