Sustainabloom releases new sustainability guides for floriculture
Sustainabloom, a resource for sustainability in the floriculture industry, has launched four new industry guides aimed at assisting businesses on their sustainability journeys. Developed by researchers at NC State University, the guides focus on Energy Efficiency, Carbon Accounting, and Inventory Management.
The Carbon Accounting guide helps businesses understand and measure their greenhouse gas emissions while formulating reduction strategies. The Energy Efficiency guide provides insights on reducing energy consumption and costs, showcasing sustainable practices in floriculture. Additionally, the Inventory Management guides offer strategies for optimizing inventory and minimizing waste, tailored specifically for florists and growers.
“We are committed to developing easy-to-use guides and resources around sustainability,” said Debi Chedester, executive director of the American Floral Endowment and director of Sustainabloom. “These new guides offer practical solutions that businesses can take to make a positive difference.”
Since its launch in April 2024, Sustainabloom has attracted visitors from over 60 countries. The organization continues to seek support for ongoing resource development. For more information, visit Sustainabloom’s website.
